Exile – Radio Remixes

Here’s a post i’ve been trying to finish up for the new Exile mixtape of sorts for his new Exile “album” dropping later this month. I knew about neither, not sure if I should know these things or not, but honestly I like being surprised and this was a pleasant surprise indeed. I downloaded it when it first dropped or maybe I had to back and track it down, who the fuck knows these days with my crazy ass schedule and typical shenanigans. Anyway, I spent like the second half of Friday chilling out and listening to a bit of this and some old Exile music. The concept for the mixtape and new “album” is actually pretty cool…at least I thought so. I’ll go back and introduce Exile to some of you people who may have never heard of him when the album drops, but for the time being you can check out some of his music along with his cohorts Blu and Fashawn when they set out on their tour early this year here. Essentially, the concept for the new “album”, which should help understand why I keep using those fucking quotations is in no way a slight at all, but it’s not necessarily a completely new Exile “album”…there go those fucking quotations again. It’s a remix album…ooohhhhhhhh now I understand, but yeah some great producers who even I haven’t heard of took their stab at remixing some of the songs from Exile’s Radio album. In addition, he also had artists go back and record over the original beats from that album. Some how I must have missed that album, I do have most of his others though. Then, essentially there was such a great response from his peers, that there was enough songs to make an album and then a mixtape with the ones that didn’t make the album. Speak of the devil, as I was writing this a got a fancy little email about the album. I like getting emails like that these days it makes me feel special. So here’s the artwork, video for the single, the Blu/Exile song for the album, and then one of my favorite Blu/Exile songs off their Below The Heavens album.
