Even though I feel like absolute shit, this post is one promise I wanted to keep. I often don’t have the time to do everything I want to do…who knows if I ever will have the time…I damn sure try. Since, today marks the relase of the new project from one of my many favorite producers, Exile and I couldn’t let that pass without writing anything. I’ve have dropped the ball numerous times in the past on things like this, I like to refer to myself as a habitual ball dropper at times. However, if Rocky can change the feelings of whole country like he did in Rocky IV than I change. If he dies then he dies. Exile…is… ***hands the baton to Plug Research***
One of the most interesting, creative and banging producers of our day and age! Share this with as many friends as far and wide as you possibly can! What a special day in Hip Hop and Electronic music! We have tons of special goodies to share with you, but as we craft and prepare those, we would love for you to enjoy the new Exile record. Have a gorgeous and safe trip to Africa Exile. We’ll see you soon!
Here’s the old post about Exile that may help on your trip to Africa Exile. Exile is definitely one of more interesting and creative producers at times a bit out there see Dirty Science, but definitely very talented. He’s a mesh of a lot of different elements and honestly as I was all over the place musically today and since I wasn’t feeling that well it took me a while to sit and listen to the new album. Once I sound down and got into it without skipping to my favorite songs I enjoyed it about as much as some of Exile’s other works. A bit eclectic at times and an acquired taste but great music if you’re open minded enough to give it a chance. It’s another Exile album that I would highly recommend for any serious music fan just like any of his other works. Which brings me to some of his other works and my own history lesson of sorts…I guess that title is still a work in progress. I’ve been called some good things and some bad things, shit some of the bad things I actually take great pride in. One of nice things I always take great pride in though is my knowledge of music especially with respect to artists and really just things I like. I’ve been called a hip hop historian of sorts, so I guess I figured we would take a look back at some of Exile greater works…yeah I probably shouldn’t have waited until the last minute to do this…ahh fuck it.
My first introduction to Exile and really Blu for that matter was Below The Heavens which was recommended by my little adopted sister, probably one of the few ladies who opinion I actually respect in regards to rap. She’s kinda of my protege of sorts, and she was right I loved the album and really every person I have recommended the album to has loved it. I’m interested to see if some real grimy niggas like nuck nuck or my little homie pistol starter will like it though as it’s not what I would call a grimy album at all. It is the perfect marriage of production and artistry though as Exile’s soulful production was made for Blu. I really hate fucking adjectives so just trust me, it’s a wonderful, soulful, smooth ride…ok i’m definitely crumbling like a wet paper bag and I still need to stop by various studios tonight. I tried…I would say listen to Below The Heavens and Boy Meets World. Those are probably my two favorite but really all of the albums in this post with their fancy artwork are great. Ok i’m off to get some meds and not use anymore adjectives for the rest of the night. I’ll chalk up any additional bad grammer today to the way I feel right now for you grammer whores out there.
